My 9 year old declared he wanted to be "The Kool-Aid Guy" for Halloween this year.  Thankfully, he told me this in August because I had NO idea how I was going to pull it off.

I don't have any pics of the construction because I made it during a week-long power outtage courtesy of Hurricane Ike and my camera battery went dead.

But, the finished product:

(of course, he had pulled his arm in when I took this pic, normally he has two arms Smiley

The "ice cubes" were cellophane sheets that I had squirreled away.  I wrapped the cellophane over a box, like I was gift wrapping it, using clear packing tape so it would have a "cube" shape, then taped it to the top of the costume.

Wow! You did a great job! You say you made it during a power outage? Do you mean to say you sewed that whole costume by hand?!?  Shocked

I love, love, love that costume!  What a great idea for the ice cubes!  I just listened to Dane Cook's comedy bit on the Kool-Aid man the other day.

Best. Costume. Ever. I live in Nebraska and every year I want to attend the Kool Aid Festival in Hastings, but I haven't made it yet. Next year!

I still have a  great Kool Aid man comic book somewhere!
