My sister called me a couple weeks before Halloween and asked if I would make her youngest daughter (my niece who turned 1 a week before Halloween) a witch costume for Halloween. Everyone in my family is big Harry Potter fans... so I thought I should make her a Gryffindor witch!
The costume is crocheted, except for the long sleeve shirt, which I freezer paper stenciled a tie on. I used part of a pattern for the hood of the cloak I found on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-girls-cape#
) I only used it for the basic hood shape, then just crocheted as I went along. The rest (the hat, the skirt, and the scarf) I didn't use a pattern for. I also had no measurements so I was very happy when it fit her perfectly.
I added a ton of tulle to the skirt and at the bottom of the cloak, and used tulle as the bowtie drawstring on the skirt.
I visited my sister's family a week before Halloween so we could give the costume a test run. And run it was, I couldn't keep up with her to take any good shots, but I took a lot, and here are the best.
I took some shots outside, but we forgot her scarf.
And finally, a shot with her big sister, Little Red Riding Hood.
Thanks for looking!
