my niece's halloween costume... she wanted to be a greek goddess with a purple dress... so we hit up the salvo...

and found this pretty silk dress (It was totally fab in the 80's, massive shoulder pads and all!) we also bought a belt - total cost at Salvo $6 I had the buttons in my stash and the broach is costume my sister had.

1 hour later....

all I did was take off the sleeves and hem the arm whole, gather then add the buttons and sew the top so her boobies didn't fall out.
