im wanting to make some projects out of a bunch of grochery bags but i dont like the plain colors i have(yellow and black/ red and white) if anyone has any ideas of how to dye the bags i would love to hear it!

The only idea I have is one that's used to dye synthetic wigs, and I have no clue what the results would be on plastic bags, but synthetic wigs are plastic, so...logical?  Maybe.  Anyway, what you do is canibalize a sharpie, and mix the ink in rubbing alcohol.  For wigs, most folks use a spray bottle, but you could probably submerse the bags in the mixture, candle-making style, letting the color layer up.

However, this may not work at all.  But it'd be a cheap experiment.  Good luck!  And go you, for recycling!

I found some plastic party leis at the dollar store.  They come in all the colours of the rainbow and once you cut the string holding it all together, you're left with a really long 1" wide piece of plarn. ^_^
