I need to find some kids I can pilfer from.

Seriously, you should take a walk through a local school yard. I managed to pick up two things on my way home just today! I'm sure one day very soon I'll end up being known as 'that crazy lady' but who cares?!?! Free craft supplies all around!

Do you ever find notes near the school yards?  I walk my son to school every morning, and every once in a while I run across a folded piece of notebook paper, and I know I've hit the jackpot!  Junior High notes are the best.  Its sort of a cultural study, reading the dropped notes...I can see what has changed and what has stayed the same since I was in Junior High!
I've always thought that I was born to be "the crazy old lady in that creepy house".  I'm looking forward to grey hair and a cane.  I've got my creepy house all picked out already!

I always take a trip by the infant school near me at least twice a week to look for bits. My best find was a piece of paper with a slab of cheese really scribbly coloured in and the word cheese printed on top. I'm in Spain so they must have been learning useful English words...like cheese! Oh so useful! Cheesy

I really love finding shopping lists though, they're fascinating. Especially the really granny ones! And my playing cards of course, and metal bits, and...

My favorite "free craft finds" are bus transfers. Especially the wrinkly ones. They make nice backgrounds.

Where I live people don't take too kindly about childless adults lurking about school yards and such. I went to a playground a couple of years ago to get some sand and thought I was going to get chased out of the park.

The sand was for a shadow box I did...La Sirena. (see how I brought that back around to crafting?)

oh god, anonymous high school notes are SO MUCH BETTER than your own high school notes! i found all mine in a box last month. argh! it was really really scary!

though now i'm thinking that they'd much fun backgrounds for crafting, so i'm glad i couldn't bear to throw them all out! Grin

Yay, we're full!

I will try to get partners out this morning, but it may not be until later this evening. In any case, I will get them done asap, I promise.  Smiley

Oh Wow! I am already suffering serious swap anxiety and we don't even have partners yet! Looking at the names all signed up, ya'll are all do such beautiful work! This is exciting! Can't wait for partners!  I started playing with some possibilities last night and I am really excited about what is coming out!!

Everyone should have a pm from me listing your group. The partners are posted on the front page. Please double check to see that your lists match up.

I'm going to be gone pretty much all day, so if you have any burning issues, please be patient, or contact phizzychick.  Wink
