So this year i was unsure of what i wanted to be for halloween. after several trips to the halloween store i didnt find anything that really fit what i wanted. plus, the costumes were like at least $40, and im just a poor college student. i wanted to make something, but i couldnt think of anything quick and awesome.
and then, after searchin the internet and my apartment i came up with this
LOOfa!!!
i spent about 20-25 dollars on the costume, not too bad!
i found some netted material at walmart for 77 cents/yard. i needed something to attach everything to and i didnt have any summery dresses so i bought a nightgown (which i can use now that i wore the costume) for $10. i used safety pins to attach the material to the dress. i used 15 yards, and the whole costume is one complete piece of fabric. it wasnt cut at all, so now i have 15 yards of purple netting for anything i want to make with it! i also got some white cording from walmart for less than a dollar.
the first pic is from my phone camera, and the other is from one of the parties i went to, where despite knocking over beer cans and cups my costume was a hit!
this is it hanging on my coat rack before halloween

and this is at one of the parties i went to! the cord was on the other side so you cant really see it here!

overall i was really pleased with the costume. the only thing that was kinda lame was i put it on before driving to my friends and it was obstructing my driving a little bit haha! also, my friend (thought) she locked her keys into her apt so we were trying to break in, and living in a college town alls i could think of was we would get caught by the police and in the police reports in the school paper it would say something like "tabbitha, age 21, of bowling green ohio, cited for attempted burglary. she was found on high street attempting to climb thru a window while wearing a purple loofa costume"
haha. turns out she had her keys in her bag the whole night. it was an interesting halloween to say the least haha.
