I wanted to send a get well package to a friend of mine. His "baby" had to be rushed to the kitty ER a few nights ago. The kitty had a stroke but he's home recovering now. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could include? Especially stuff that's geared towards an older cat.

You could make a polar fleece blanket.  If you don't sew, here are "no-sew" instructions

And on youtube, the first five videos:

Or if you sew, you might want to try making a bed.

I don't know how sick the cat is, whether it would appreciate toys or can tolerate treats.

I have heard from several different sources that for reasons unknown Rescue Remedy flower essence added to their water really helps to ease anxiety in cats, you can find it at most health food stores.  Another idea is a lambskin blanket-highly recommended for infants and geriatric people why not geriatric kitties plus most cats love wool.
