Super new to embroidery so I've used the most simple stitches, but I really like how this turned out! My SO's sister doesn't have a huge budget for fancy-pants baby clothes, and I wanted to make miss Haylee something special for the holidays. Considered gifting it for Christmas, but she's a chunky little 3 month old and I fear that it won't fit her by then! ha

I got this dress at the big bad W-M for a whopping $15, and it's become my favorite project I've done lately Smiley

Here's the detail around the neckline:

And my favorite, behind the little satin part in the center:

The best part is that it has a soft lining so none of the stitches will come close to Haylee's skin, so I didn't have to figure out that interfacing stuff- woohoo!

Let me know what you think, I really liked this project and plan on doing more, so any tips/ pointers would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!

So sweet!  I love the idea of just presonalizing/decorating a store bought dress.  My sewing skills are ok for basic crafting, but not for detailed & tiny baby clothes, so doing this would let me focus on the fun embroidery part.  Genius!

Beautiful, and great idea. $15 is still too rich for my blood for a piece of clothing for my little ones unless it's a special occasion. This I could make cheaply, so thanks for sharing!
