I collected a few denim skirts at my local thrift store recently to use in making doggie dresses. I wish I had thought to take pics as I was doing the process, but I'm including pics of my "pattern" that I think you can recreate in the size that you need. Here are some pics of the finished designs: (scroll on down to get the mini-tutorial)

Mini-Tutorial:
1. Using a tape measure, write down the following measurements of your pet:
A. Desired length of garment along the back of your pet (some people/pets prefer shorter vs longer dresses)
B. Chest/girth size of pet
C. Low Neck size of pet
Divide both numbers for B & C by 2 and add 2.5" to each to allow for overlap
Using the following pics--make your pet's pattern similar using the measurements that you now have:

Desired length--measurement A

Pet's chest/girth--this length should be measurement B divided by 2, then add 2.5"

Pet's low neck--this length should be measurement C divided by 2, then add 2.5"

Once you have drawn your pattern, place it on the fold of a practice piece of fabric and cut it out. Test it to see if it fits or if some adjustments need to be made. Once you have it "perfect", use the pattern to cut the dress out of denim, placing on the fold. Add hook and loop to the 4 flaps. Add any embellishments you have on hand.
Take pics of your pet and post, please!
