So I decided the night before Halloween that I needed to make some type of costume.
Being plus size, I couldn't run out and buy one, and I am sewing inept, so it had to be something I wasn't required to sew.

I headed to Michaels and ended up buying 12 pieces of posterboard, 8 thin 3 or 4 foot sticks, and some paint. In 4 1/2 hours my mom and I constructed a pyramid.

It was a pretty big hit at work. Basically I glewed ribbons to make the pyramid hang on my shoulders like overalls. It was tough to walk in, tough to get through the door, and near impossible to get in my car.

That's really fantastic!  I bet it was troublesome to get around in (how'd you sit?), but for one day a year it's worth the struggle to have a great costume, isn't' it?

Good grief!  How did you get in the car?  I'm picturing you driving down the road with the bottom part tied to the roof!   Grin
Wonderful job and it was last minute?! Amazing...wouldn't be good to wear to a dance though!

I made a frame along the bottom that I had to snap to get into the car. Thankfully the posterboard did not crease too much while it was in the car.

I only danced like an Egyptian a tiny bit! I am on the Committee for the Quality of Worklife at work - basically all I had to do was walk around with candy all day, so it wasn't too hard to get around.

Thanks for the scarf compliment! I've had that scary for 5 years and only worn it this once.
