mr.sweets4ever and I recently completed our biggest project ever:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=275859.0 Wink

Well, that project needs a place to stay, so here's what we put together our little man! Smiley

The curtains were actually tablecloths I bought from Ebay for our wedding last year.  A little trimming, a few seams and presto! Smiley

I love his closet.  I want to live in it. Grin

The details...

Here are some before pictures of the room.  It was previously a pretty basic, adult bedroom. Smiley

Here are some work-in-progress photos of the focal wall.  It took me approximately one week to complete all of the colors (due to taping & drying times for each color).  It (along with the ceiling fixture) was 110% inspired by this random stranger on Flickr -- everyone should go give him props!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/langdale/145746494/

My plan (made in Microsoft Excel):

Tape tape tape...

First color...

Second color...

Third color...

Fourth color & complete (but still wet)...

Shelving unit designed by me and built by us! Smiley

See those little elephants on the bottom shelf?  alwaysinmyroom made them!!

She also made these super cute wall plaques from book covers!

On the chair is a blankie made by batgirl!

We didn't want to use a padded bumper on his crib, so I refurbished it into a valance and lightplate cover for the room.  I still have some fabric left -- I might make a few pillows for the chair or floor.

Here's a random dangly mobile thing I made for above his changing table.  It keeps him semi-entertained. Wink

Random bits of decor info!
Rocking chair & glider -- Craigslist!  $140 for the set
Bedding -- Target
Light fixture -- Ikea
Crib & changing table -- Babies 'R' Us
Mirror set above shelving unit -- Target
White shag throw rug -- Target
Paint -- Wal-mart brand, ColorPlace

It looks so amazing! It's so cozy and welcoming for the little dude, but also totally sophisticated and modern. I love it!! And I'm so impressed with that wall, I would never have the patience for that. Smiley

Wow, that is amazing!  What a lucky little guy!  That is a room that can grow with him as well.  I love that everthing is organized and in its place.  I hate "baby" baby rooms, does that make sense?!?  Wink  The color choice is great and looks soothing.

The shelf by the chair will come in so handy with late night feedings and cuddling up to read a story with the matching blanket!

Who wouldn't want that closet!

CONGRATULATIONS again!

Thank you!!  My brother asked how hard the wall was to paint and mr.sweets4ever said, "I thought it was really easy."  Haha, butthead!

Thank you SO much!!  We really wanted a design we wouldn't want/have to change for a few years, so hopefully we accomplished that with this room.

The shelving has already came in VERY handy in the middle of the night!  The lamp is a 3-setting touch lamp and perfect for quiet midnight feedings.

And I know exactly what you mean about "baby" baby rooms!

Thanks, myklia!

This is quite probably the most awesome room ever. I am completely in love with that wall! Now I'm trying to figure out how to do that in my room. I like that you used the curtains on the closet instead of the doors that way he can't smash his fingers. The lamp is amazing and I also love the cluster of circular mirrors above the shelf Smiley

You guys did an amazing job! Congrats on the baby as well!

I love the paint job!! It is classy, simple, tasteful but also adds so much interest to the room. I wish I could find a chair like that on craigslist... So many adorable details. Great job and congrats!!!!
