Penguins are my favorite animal and my friends and I have a running joke that I am part penguin... so I decided to be ALL penguin for halloween.  I used the Simplicity penguin pattern and then decided to make my own little eyes for it too.  Smiley

My costume Smiley

My feet covers kept slipping off.

It was really hot because it was made entirely out of polar fleece... and it wasnt THAT cold!

I had a lot of fun in it and everyone loved it... they were amazed when they found out I hadn't bought it, which is always a nice feeling.  It strokes your craftmanship ego.  Cheesy

Crafts make us feel rooted, give us a sense of belonging and connect us with our history.  Our ancestors used to create these crafts out of necessity, and now we do them for fun... to express ourselves.

So why buy what you can craft?  Smiley

haha, you did wonderfully!! Penguins are my favourite animal too. someone at my university walked by with a child in a penguin costume and i nearly died of excitement, and yours is like the cherry on top. it's fantastic!

I agree about that craftsman ego thing. I love it when people don't believe I made things I am wearing.
