      Heres my entry! A peacock!

So this year i really wanted to be a peacock, so i spent just about the whole month of october making my costume! I made the tail from clothes hangers bent into wing shapes, then stretched old panty hoes over them, and then spray painted them a base of blue, then hand painted over them with fabric pants.
From there i sewed on some fabric peacock eye appliques i made, then added glitter and rhinestones. THEN i added some real peacock feathers to the tips!  Grin
And i made a ol' tutu out of blue/green/and white tule.

It took pretty much forever but the effect was totally worth it, it held up pretty well while trick or treating, but i did smack just about everyone in the face with my tail haha  Roll Eyes

Enough talking! ON TO THE PICTURES!

From the front!

The tail

in the wild!

Oh! I also made a matching hair piece out of peacock feathers and plain black feathers.
So thats about it!
I got a lot of complements on it and it worke out nicely untill i tripped and fell and cut my knee and hand, ahha then it looked like i had been in come sort of peacock fight  Roll Eyes

So beautiful.

when you were describing the tail I was like,"huh?" But when I saw the photo I was impressed.  I love it and I hope you hang it on your wall or something so it can be enjoyed year round

I made a similar tutu to be a fairy a few years ago, but yours looks much nicer. Did you attach the tulle to elastic?? And the tail piece is really beautiful...nice job on everything!
