So for a while there I was going through a quilt-curse.  The people I made quilts for either broke up with me, or broke up with their significant others.  That was no good!  In the rest of my life, I moved across the country to attend grad school, and met my now-husband Jim (the day I moved in!)  I fell hard and fast for him, and I didn't want him to be a part of the quilt-curse too.  But I was also trying to determine whether or not Jim wanted to be with me.  Come Christmas I made him this quilt.  While I had made many quilts before, I had never tried this pattern, and seriously underestimated the time it would take.  The top has over 1,000 tiny rectangles in it!  I told Jim it was for someone else, but he saw through the lie and ended up helping me finish it too, so it sort of became OUR quilt.  The pattern is blue and black stars, most of which are starred prints.  It is supposed to resemble the night sky, while being viewed from a position laying on the grass.  The greens are tree leaves, and the brown border is the tree trunks and branches rising up beside you.  To finish it off, I quilted it with stars.

I am very proud of this one...  Hope you all enjoy!

Detail of the quilting.

I'm glad that your quilting curse was broken and that you ended up happy! The quilt is amazing, the idea behind it is awesome as well. Its extra special since he helped you make it.  Smiley
