We get those in our yard a lot! I don't care for spiders either but these always fascinate me, probably 'cause they don't move alot. I don't know what they're called but it's beautiful. I can never seem to get a good picture of 'em but yours are awesome!

great  pic!!    its  really neat  when it rains they go under their web to hide from the rain.  these spiders in particular  are the only ones that don't make me want to squash them immediately.  I take picks first  LOL

someone told me its a fruit spider (don't know really)

Cool spider! I was surprised it is in a house since they are usually found outside.  I remember last year there was a spider just like that living in someones front yard and it had a huge web and it had babies on it.  My kids and I use to look at it everyday after school walking home and then one day it was just gone. This past year my dd had to do a report on spiders and had to create one and so we made one out of clay.  This is a picture of it but it lost some of it's pompoms that she used for it's eyes.

I see those all the time!!! I love their webs and the zigzag pattern. If you get really close to the web they move in a way that makes the whole web go back and fourth, and the egg sacks are HUGE!!! About the size of a quarter! I love them...but I wouldn't wanna pick one up or have it crawl in my pants Shocked

yes - we get those orb spiders this time of year - they are huge - one fall I was cleaning up my yard and I scooped up an armful of leaves and thought I had a baby mouse in my hand (something small and kind of fuzzy.....)  well, you can guess it was a gigantic spider and I almost had a heart attack.  Shocked  They are pretty cool though - and their webs are amazing!

holy crap.

you guys are brave.

I'm TERRIFIED of spiders. I feel like my skin is crawling now, lol. I can't even look at itty bitty daddy long-legs without freaking out.

The pics are really awesome though.. and the spider itself is pretty interesting looking.

The photo is neat.  I love photographing spider webs outdoors because they glisten and shine so much.

Oh yeah we see a lot of those outside our house.
One day there was one in the backyard on the deck and that kind of freaked me out.  But anyway later in the day or like, a day later I walked in the backyard and it wasn't there...It was near a window like, 3 or 4 feet away...
*shudder*  They're really big!
Here's one I saw outside of my sister's bedroom.  Haha.

Lol, I kinda edited the picture...
These things are pretty cool though.   Grin

yikes! I don't know why I read this thread. I have a recent disgust for spiders. I came home one night and there was a wolf spider on my door step. I turned right around and made the boy squish it. I felt a little bad later but it was so tall! It was the biggest spider I ever saw in person.

It was a male, fortunately. The females carry the babies on their backs and if you try to squish her they scatter. It was just so tall. I never saw a tall, girthy spider.

Do they have wolf spiders near any of you? We don't get colorful spiders in the desert. They are all rock colored.
