This is my very first contest entry on craftster. When I seen this one I knew I had to enter my daughter Chloe. She thought she was the most beautiful girl ever. On Halloween night she got so many compliments from everyone she kept sighing and saying"Thank you, my mom made it for me." like she was tired of all the attention!!!!
After about 5 trips to fabric store and no ideas for a costume, frustrated and only a week until halloween I made this from plastic grocery bags, fabric remnants, used canning jar lids, even the tulle was from her older sisters cosplay costume!!!  The necklace, which says "Save My Planet", was made from an old scrabble game tiles. Chloe found the boots at Goodwill and just had to wear them, so I used an old cowboy hat from my sisters neighbor to complete the outfit.
I hope you all enjoy. I know I sure did in making this!!!
(the date on my camera is messed up. That is not the right date, sorry about that. It should be 10/31/2008.)

so original, wonderful execution! I love how everything fits together-the necklace, the canning jar sash, the hat and shirt all go so well together. and boy oh boy I love that grocery bag skirt.

That's really lovely, one of the nicer plastic bag outfits I've seen- not just draped garbage bags!

I think it's fantastic you have such a environmentally aware family, and your girl is very gorgeous.

Did you use the sewing machine to stitch the bags together? and if so, did you have to stabilise them somehow?
