Hello everyone,

We've always wanted to come up with a great way for authors and publishers of new craft books to be able to tell the Craftster community about these new craft books. Today we're trying out a new idea which is that the publisher gets to share a project from their new book in the Craftster forums.

We think this is a great way for people to be able learn about new craft books.

Here's the first Sponsored Craft Book Excerpt:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=276440.0

If you have any questions or comments about this, please feel free to comment here.

- Leah

P.S. This sponsorship opportunity is open to all craft book authors/publishers. So if you have written a craft book and would like to do this as well, please contact us.

I just stumbled upon this thread that was labeled as "sponsored content--craft book excerpt": http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=278106.0. I just want to say, I love this book excerpt thing! Is it new? This is the first sponsored content topic I've seen (but I admit I don't look around the boards all that often).

I'm a craft book junkie and I love the chance to see book excerpts, so this is right up my alley. I love the sample project shown in the excerpt and want to check out the book to see what the other projects look like. If there are more of these book excerpt threads out there, is there an easy way to find them? I happened upon this one by accident, but I'd actively seek more if I know they're out there.

This kind of advertising is perfect! It's unintrusive, informative, and craft-related. I also really appreciate that the topics are so clearly labeled as being sponsored content so that anyone who doesn't want to be marketed to doesn't have to look at them. The purpose of the thread is very clear. Thank you for that.  Smiley

ETA: I just realized that I can look at the other posts by Pottercraft to see other excerpts. Are there any other publishers posting sponsored content?

Oh, awesome!  Thanks for the heads up, MandyLikesPie - I was just looking at the amazon listing for that book earlier, it's really cool to be able to look inside the book!

Hey Mandy! Glad you like it!!  Grin That's our only book excerpt to my knowledge but I'll ask Leah if we have more in the works.  We do have some other Sponsored Content floating around, which is the Master Crafters campaign.  You can read more about that through these links

I completely agree with MandyLikesPie. I love the sponsored content, and the Master Crafters series rocks. I can read book or machine reviews online, but they mean more (and I believe them more) when they're by craftster's whose work I've seen and adore.

I love the book stuff.

More books! More books!! And extra kudos to the publishers/author for being generous enough to share a project from the book.

I really like the book excerpt idea, as I hate trying to decide if I want to buy a craft book without being able to see at least some of the projects.  It's also great to get to sample how well the instructions work and things like that.

I look forward to seeing more in the future.
