This year I was Strawberry Shortcake! And not the icky new one with sailor jeans, but the classic Strawberry Shortcake we know and love. The Strawberry Shortcake who bravely goes to the Big Apple and learns about the fickleness of ovens.

     - The red and white polka dot dress was floor-length and skinny. I shortened it and used the extra fabric to add fullness to the skirt.
     - The apron is Butterick See & Sew pattern B5125 (http://www.butterick.com/item/B5125.htm). I added darts, the waist band and the diamonds.
     - The hat is New Look 6522 (http://www.habithat.co.uk/images/New6522.jpg). I made the upper pieces fatter to give it more of a muffin shape.

Sorry for the kissy shot, but it's the only other photo that really shows the costume. Also, it's a great way to avoid red eye. Wink

Bonus points if anyone knows what character the boyfriend is.

OMG Sarah!  I didn't know you were a craftster!  It's Sydni.  You always have excellent costumes.  I thought that the one you wore to Arthur's party was great too.  Strawberry Shortcake was one of my favorites as a kid too.  Great job!  Also, Matt's costumes are always too obscure for me...I would guess it has to do with something Japanese though.  Cheesy
