take a glass bowl, whatever size youd like, i used a cat food dish about 4 inches round
cover the outside with a plastic bag, stuff the ends of the bag into the bottom of the bowl
turn the bowl upside downt and apply shredded pages from an old book
poetry books work great
(stay away from newspaper)
mod podge about 3 layers.
let dry between layers.
once it thick enough, peel away from bowl/bag
cut small scrapbook paper peices for a cute touch

blankit stitch the top edge with a needle and thread

I love this.  What a great Recycling Project - Like Paper mache but better.

The yarn edge is a great touch too!

very cool!  I got some Japanese-language books at a sale this weekend, and have been using the pages for crafts (paper beads and Buddha balls so far).  A Buddha Bowl has got to be the next craft!
