So I was very excited to try marshmallow fondant that I found here, on crafster.  it was a post by Riverwatson

With  halloween just around the corner, it was the best time to try it, since it gave me an excuse to do it and not have people ask 10000000000 questions as to why I was making fancy cakes with no reason.

Anyway.  on with the show!
The ghost cake is two sided.  All I did for him was to bake the cake in a small pyrex bowl and ploped him onto a tuperware container lid.  Then I put that on a beer butt chicken can holder (which has never been used for that purpose, but sooo many others......)  and tossed the fondant over top.  the faces were painted on with Wiltons Black food coloring gel.



This is the pumpkin family.  I bought single serving meat pie tin plates and made the bigger ones that size. Used 2 cakes for each pumpkin.  The smaller ones are 2 cupcakes cut in half (I used the bottom half) and stuck together.  I wraped those in fondant, cut some lines on them so they weren't just orange balls, and made the faces by cutting the shapes out.  I started with all triangles, but then found it fun to  pull the edges around, so you get those odd shaped eyes and mouths.  I used modeling chocolate for the stems, but they look wonky.  I think I need a new recipe for it.  So if anyone has one let me know!


 tips are welcome!! (goodness knows there are things I could have done differently, if only I knew better Wink )
