ABOUT ME:
I am Marie and I live in Chicago, USA.
Some of you already know but I recently lost my husband last month after a battle with leukemia. My life is a little upside down right now.
My favorite colors are soft pinks, blues, browns, yellows, reds, greens and black. I don’t really like orange. I am learning how to quilt. I also knit so anything related to that is a hit with me.
I have a thing for owls, I just got an owl tattoo for my husband’s birthday.
I am in need of things to help me organize my space (baskets, trays and what not).
I like all colors but orange, I usually prefers solids but I also like florals, dots and stripes and tone-on-tone.

I'd like to claim poerava for a drop spindle + roving.
This is my second claim, 0 sent, 0 received.
I'm in North Carolina/US, late 20s, recently married with one cat, two kittens and a giant dog. It's been so long since I've participated in OWS that I'm having a hard time with this one, but I'm pretty easy going. I love greens and browns, natural fabrics, cottons, canvas, linen. We are working on leading a simpler life this year and it's hard work! If I stall the list, shout at me.
Crafts
Hand thrown coffee mugs – Absolutely adore these:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10760703
Handmade Beeswax or Soy Candles. Any scent but strong florals.
Cat bed for my kittens. Prefer browns or dark colors that won’t show cat hair too easily.
Fabric placemats--maybe with the center quilted?
PJs/Yoga Pants in natural fabrics. I’m a tiny lady. ?
Sewn, knee-length jersey knit skirts. PM me if you're interested in making some but need more info.
Half-length Apron. Browns, greens or reds, any style.
Small stained glass/suncatchers for my deck door.
Handmade cat toys. I’ve got two kittens that feel the need to be constantly entertained.
Clothespin bag for hanging out on the outside clothesline.
Hand-dipped incense
Handmade dryer balls
Eclectic/found object windchime.
Handmade birdfeeders or bird houses.
Hand-dyed/hand-painted yarn. Prefer worsted weights.
Big, chunky rings. Here are some I like:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=cat2_list_7&listing_id=16001711
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=cat2_list_18&listing_id=15470887
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=cat2_list_7&listing_id=16107714
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=cat2_list_9&listing_id=16186862
Turquoise wire-wrapped pendant
A set of four hand-thrown appetizer plates or shallow bowls (they can be small-ish) in greens or browns.
Handspun yarn.
Men's stenciled t-shirt. Bike or motorcycle design for my husband. Size small/medium.
Altered journal.
Handmade, wooden shawl pin
Manly checkbook cover in manly colors like brown. Maybe canvas? Something durable and simple.
Handmade holiday cards. Prefer something simple and winter, not holiday, inspired.
Slippers for the chilly evenings!
Polymer clay buttons.
Grill-themed mitts to be part of a holiday gift for my brother and his wife.
Embroidered handkerchiefs. Simple embroidery is fine, as I’m likely to use these. ?
Black legwarmers -- I've got a pair in green, thanks to addicted2knitting, and I wear them all the time. Perhaps another pair in my collection would be nice.
Anything inspired by my wists!
http://www.wists.com/lapoli
Craft Supplies
Worsted weight, 100% wool yarns.
Dried Lavender Flowers.
100% wool (or cashmere, hehe) sweaters with sewn seams (not serged ). I’m addicted to ripping them to reuse yarn! (Ask if you have sweaters you’re looking to get rid of don’t know what types of seams they have.)
Paint brushes
Lavender sachets.
Extras
Green teas. Loose or bagged.
Heirloom Vegetable Seeds.
Really. Shout at me if I stall! I'll update with more ideas.

I'd love to claim my fellow North Carolinian lapoli for
* Big, chunky ring
* Altered journal
I'm actually a block over the boarder on South Carolina and am a 37 year stay at home mom of two.
I have a profile at swap-bot:
http://www.swap-bot.com/user:igobylorib
that tells all about my favorite things and about my son and daughter. I'd love anything that's listed here. I'd also love anything inspired by my wist:
http://www.wists.com/igobylorib/
Aside from those websites, here's my wishlist:
Crafts:
* a screen printed long sleeve t-shirt for my son (I can provide the shirt)
* a black scarf for my daughter ( something like this one)
http://www.limitedtoo.com/detail/4220694
* a white hat for my daughter
http://craftycrab.typepad.com/weblog/2005/05/done_snb_nation.html
* a black hat for me
http://craftycrab.typepad.com/weblog/2005/05/done_snb_nation.html
* This is a HUGE wish, but I'd love to give it to my son for Hanukkah. My daughter has a special bear a d he wants something of his own. He's 4 1/2 and adores spiderman:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=270118.0
(I'd love to trade for this item rather than just receive it since it's pretty big)
* a wool felted cuff
Supplies:
* polka dot fabric - colored dot on white or white dot on colored fabric. Would also love a cream version as well.
* iron on rick rack
* wool felt - greens, blues, reds, oranges
* embroidery patterns (copies are great) see swap-bot for theme ideas
* vintage buttons - fancy shanks are great
* thrifted vintage floral pillow cases and sheets
* directions on how to make this. I'm not really a crocheter so I can't figure it out just by picture
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gipsybazar/280747095/in/pool-fabrictextile_art/
I truly love this swap and am very grateful to anyone who claims me.

Hey! I claim igobylorib for a wisty suprise and some tidbits... to be discussed!
Top choices are in red!!!
Only all natural/not itchy yarns and fabrics please! Wool is fine, but I prefer a nice wool mix for softness sake.
I’m a California girl at heart living in Long Island NY so warm things are always appreciated! I like rich earthy colors (browns, blues, greens, purples, greys and things like burnt orange, and mustard yellow) I LOVE penguins, rays and octopi, Doctor Who, and Terry Pratchett. I also played the violin for 18 years before being forced to stop due to an injury right before I went to Julliard, so violin/classical music themes are close to my heart and very appreciated.
HUGE WISH!!!!!!!!!!!
I REALLY would like a GOCCO japanese print maker... if you have one you don't use, I'd be willing to negotiate for it... crafts/money/cleaning your kitchen for the next 30 years perhaps?
Also anything from my Ravelry favorites list if you have a Ravelry account. Check
here
. (this list is HUGE and seriously, I’d love anything from it)
I’d also love what I’m calling a “Ravelry Kit” where you pick something from my Ravelry favorites list, and send me what I need to make it (basically, the pattern, enough of the right kind of yarn, the right needles and any notions needed) If you have lots of yarn and needles, but no Ravelry account, PM me for a somewhat smaller selection of patterns I’d love to do that I have put aside.
Anything from my
wists
I keep them very carefully updated on a regular basis. I would love to receive anything from them.
CRAFTS
Knitted/Crochet Things
Joodito Super Chubs or something inspired thusly:
here
Thick knitted leg warmers, like
this
, or
this
Swiss Cheese Scarf
pattern
here
(not in grey though, maybe a mustard yellow instead?)
A Cloche like
this
. (I have a pattern I can send that’s almost the same)
Sewing
If you're really good at sewing bags, I'd really love a bag just big enough to carry my everyday items... in some cute purple patterns.
ANY 1950's style dress (with full skirt, no pencils)
pinafore... any pinafore.
like
this
.
Wrist cuff wallet like
this
, or
this
Belt with pocket like
this
.
Fabric Portfolios for school, like drawing portfolios (with space for an average 3 ring notebook on one side and loose papers on the other side) I need 3-4 matching ones eventually, but even one would be totally awesome… [/b]Please claim this if you can! Amy Butler has a pattern for kind-of what I’m looking for (it’s
here
), and there are a few tutorials as well…here's one that's almost exactly what I want.
here
.
Bubble dress, or any other Jersey knit dress that doesn't cling to the hips. Like
this
Other stuff
Custom made reusable stencils
Felted wool stones in shades of grey, around 1.5-2 inches in diameter.
Headbands like
this
, or
this
or
this
.
Feather hair fancies, like
this
, or like any of
these
. (but no fake colors please!)
A beautiful plush or needle felted banana slug (very realistic looking)
I would absolutely love a needle felted, realistic looking Emperor Penguin (even a family perhaps… or just a baby?)
Stuff with realistic and artsy (not cutsy) penguins, octopi, rays, my tattoo (
here
) a violin or a banana slug.
I’d love someone who’s really good at graphic design to help me design a logo that has to do with my username.
A rubber stamp with my tattoo on it… (look
here
)
SUPPLIES
BIGGEST WISH:
Feathers! No fake colors, but feathers feathers feathers! Lots and lots of feathers.
Skeleton keys like
this
,
this

Small glass vials like
this
in any shape, even just straight vials.
Origami paper, particularly kinds made out of interesting materials like net, linen, rice paper etc, but of course just normal paper as well!
Wool Fabric, (fleece, flannel, boucle, tweed, gabardine, crepe, worsted plaid, etc) in earthy colors. At least 1.5 yards, 2-3 preferred. (example
here
)
3 yards of a soft flannel with penguins or octopi.
Jersey Knit fabric in rich earthy colors. 2 yards minimum of each color.
Fabric Paints (not puffy)
Fabric Markers
Bleach Pens
Bamboo Knitting Needles (particularly circular, various sizes and kinds)
A Yarn Winder
A bead loader/spinner
(lightly used is fine for all of the above)
Plain Silk Mens Ties… Most colors
Old plain brown leather belts so I can make one of
these
A Beginning Resin Kit
Vintage womans patterns (bust 38) 1965ish or older
Any number of various craft books, lots on my wist, and Amy Butler books.
EXTRAS
BEESWAX CANDLES
Small boxes... not kitchy…I really really need little boxes, I use them for EVERYTHING. Jewelry, hair clips, make-up, ephemera, camera cards, vitamins, band-aids, needles, pins, buttons, beads, and just about everything else small you can think of. Seriously, I’d really love a pretty, nice, small box. Or two or three. This could be something you have lying around and throw in as an extra, OR something you make beautiful as my whole wish. TALK TO ME ABOUT IT THOUGH PLEASE! No more cardboard!
Anything hookah related… I just bought a beautiful Mya hookah, and I’d love more to go with her. Hose covers, shisha, wind covers, cleaning tools, bowls, well, anything really…

Im going to claim elmpixie for a top or dress (havent decided which yet)
This is my first claim this round.
None sent
None received
Hello there !!
Im Tammy. Im 36 and im a stay at home mom to three boys in Northern California. I just moved here from OH and love it!! I like to sew, quilt. I am starting to get into embroidery and can crochet a little bit. Im very much into girly type stuff and love anything regency -titanic era. I also love 30s-40s things as well. I am allergic to nickel.
Here are my wishes
First off any surprise off my wist list is great!!
Crafted Items~~
KNITTED AND CROCHETED
Crocheted Victorian Reticule like this one
http://www.knitheaven.com/vintagepatterns/23_LADYS_RETICULE_CROCHET.htm
I love this shawl and am willing to wait longer if anyone will make it for me.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CivilWarShawlKAL/
Im not picky about color. Would be just happy to even have one.
A crocheted or knitted Sontang. This is a Civil War era item. Here is a pattern link to one
http://www.csa-scla.org/articles/Sontag.htm#ModernSontag2
I would like one in cream or chocolate brown color.
SEWN
**Civil War Era Cape called a Mathilde Mantilla (Think of a Civil War era Poncho. This is basically what it is) Here is a link to the pattern
http://www.uvm.edu/%7Ehag/godey/images/s5902170.jpg
and here is an example of what it looks like
http://www.thegracefullady.com/civilwargowns/ready-mades_silkmantle.htm
Measurements will be provided. Wool blend or Corduroy would be great. Hood is decorative and is not functional. It only uses around 3 yards. I would also prefer it lined for warmth. It would be great if I could retain the pattern as well for future projects. (I can sew I just cant figure out how to make it <frown>) without a pre-drafted pattern. OR If someone with any drafting skills wouldn’t mind drafting a pattern to my size I could play around with it and make my own (If I have a pattern to work with)
Handmade lunch bags!! I looking for one for each of my boys and hubby. (Claim for one at a time is fine of course)
Primitive Rageddy Ann doll (An example is in my wists)
Handwarmers like the ones offered at Hot Topic. Victorian Goth ones would be perfect.
Crazy Quilted Purse
Victorian capelet. At least waist length please email for length.
Regency or Victorian era Reticule
Petticoat either knee or ankle length !! (Im 5'5 email for length) (recieved one from farmgirljane and would love more!!)
Slat bonnet or corded can provide links if needed. Any pattern should do as they are all basically the same result.
Victorian slipper. This pattern is from 1864
http://www.victoriana.com/VictorianShoes/victorianslipperpattern.html
Bars of handmade soap (the kind that is made from lye). I have always wanted to try it!! Lavender, oatmeal, goats milk, citrus are great however any scents are welcome!! Or soap supplies as I would love to learn how to make my own. Pre-made bars are appreciated as I have young children and am concerned with having lye in the house.
Soap bombs. Also jars of bath salts would be fantastic as well.
Hand crafted candles are great too. Prefer either fruit and or spice scented ones or lavender (only floral scented one I like).
Woodworking
I need a shelf for above my bathroom toilet!! I just moved to a new home and need to decorate my own bathroom (living with 4 boys here I need my girly space lol) My space from wall to wall is 26" (I can hit each side of the wall while sitting ) It can be painted, stenciled, decoupaged!! If painted or stenciled the colors I would like is rose, white, mustard or country blue (I have a piece of metal artwork directly above it and these are the colors in it). I just ask that it have a victorian flare (especially if decoupaged please) to it!! Other then that surprise me!!
~~Supplies~~
Hobby Lobby and Michaels crafts have Victorian style sewing supplies!! Sadly I am no longer local to either (actually no Hobby Lobby in CA) I would love some small stork sissors, seam ripper ( I have lost my cheapy plastic one) thread cutter (I dont expect all three of course unless you want to. Feel free to pick one or so) (Irasema sent me a pincushion and needle holder. Thank you so much!!)
Patterns!! I am 80 miles from a Joanns or Hancocks (sniff sniff). I need envelopes with a size 14 & 16 included in the envelope for dresses and tops and a 16 for skirts. Thanks!!
Vogue~~ 1048...1023..2934.. .2884...2968...1239 ...1038...8352...80 03
Simplicity~~ 2851
McCalls~~ 5714...5717
Any patterns by Truly Victorian, Laughing Moon, Folkwear and Sense and Sensibility (really wanting the Spencer pattern and Regency Dress).
Im always needing thread for sewing and this always stays on my list. I go through alot of black and white but love new colors too!! The more the merrier and gently used is welcomed too !!
2 yard lengths of trims and any color is welcome !!
Buttons!! New or vintage
Sewing Needles sizes 11/14 Ball Point and Regular. Name brand quality preferred such as singer or comparative.
Patterned Ribbons is also welcomed too (again another one of my standbys lol)!!
New or Unwanted Issues of Threads ( I have all of 2003 2006-2008 Though I dont have the brand newer issues yet 137 or 138 !!!) and Burda World of Fashion Magazine !! (I have a few ...1/06** 7/03**4/05**)
(used is fine) Knipmode, Ottobre, Patrones, La Mode
Gothic Lolita Bible Magazine (used is just fine) (these have patterns in them)
Purse supplies. Silver Victorian clasps would be great too.
Scrapbooking items (trims, paper, stickers anything!!). Im also looking for some things like brads, ribbons, fancy paper, scissors. Im also looking for corner punchers, rulers for making fancy torn edges and hole punchers (I have a heart one)
Im also looking for a decorated (painted/decoupaged/stained ect) box for my scrapbooking paper 12X12. Would prefer an old vintage look
Beading supplies like wire 18 gauge or higher, beads, spacers. Issues of beading magazines and jewelry making (new or used). Im also needing jewlery making supplies too.
Vintage Sewing Patterns!! 36 Bust is perfect.
Im especially trying to find a Jumper from 1948(?) Simplicity 2705
Knitting and crochet magazines would be great (pre-loved older issues are fine as well!!) and any other info geared to beginning knitting!! And some yarn!! I would prefer not to recieve any 100% acrylic. However wool, cotton, silky whatever!! All colors are welcome (well except neon bright bright colors).
Im looking for corset making supplies. boning, 13.5" busk, lacing!!
Sublime Embroidery patterns ~~Gothic, Pinup, Craftopia, Sushi Bar, Dress up
Books (Amazons great for these. Used welcomed as well)
**The Perfect Fit : The classic guide to altering patterns
**Fast Fit (I have checked this book out of the library so many times im shocked they don’t check with me first before loaning it out to anyone lol) or More Power Sewing both by Sandra Betzina
**Jackets for Real People by palmer and pletsch
**The Edwardian Modisto (has ewardian patterns in it)
**"From the neck up an illustrated guide to hatmaking Denise Dreher
**Victorian and Edwardian Fashions Lamode Illustree
** Fashions of the guilded age by francis gimble
**The voice of fashion 79 turn of the century fashion patterns Francis Gimble
I have a new kitten that we all absolutely adore!! Anything for him would be great!! Cat pillow, toys with cat nip, bags of good cat nip to make him some with, kitty treats
EXTRAS
Candy from outside the US, Including but not limited to, (NZ~~Minties, Pineapple Lumps and Wittakers) Kit Kats!!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book
My husband collects law enforcement patches. I would love to get a bunch for him for his birthday in Sept. If you live near a prison, jail or other LE facility perhaps they would let you have one??? He gets his this way by asking and they are usually happy to give him one. My husband loves asian things as well as LE related (he is a correctional officer) and anything relating to the park service (Smokey the Bear gets double marks lol!!). He is a fan of Bruce Lee and any DVD (he has VHS) movies or any craft with him inspired would be wonderful!! Or perhaps a stenciled t-shirt of Bruce Lee. He would be thrilled to recieve something just for him (It also continues him to encourage me to swap. Ya know totally his idea )
Last but not least total complete surprises are welcome!! If you are good at something and have something you love making. Go right ahead. I will say that my tastes are victorian so if you can incorporate that even more perfect!!

I claim poerava for a basket and if it doesn't work out (because I have never made one before) a surprise from her wist.
This is my second claim of three allowed, zero sent, zero received.
A little bit about me: I am a 27 year old woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, student, and special educator. Family plays a large part in my life as does the outdoors. I live in Maine and we hike, bike, canoe/kayak, geocache, snowshoe, camp, walk, and do just about anything except for organized sports if it takes place outdoors. I also like to read, play with my kids, host family dinners/events, and (of course) craft. My favorite crafts are sewing (clothing for my children, quilts, bags/purses), scrapbooking (although I have taken a brief break from it for right now), crocheting, and embroidering. I am new to spinning and have been working with a drop spindle; I am saving my money to get a wheel and am building up a fiber stash (as I am not using it as quickly as I am building it Wink ).
Crafts:
Toddler Bonnet
http://madebypetchy.blogspot.com/2008/06/free-pattern-toddler-hatbonnet.html
for either my two year old (red and/or black or with Thomas fabrics) or my four year old (purple, black, pink or pretty much any color out there). We would like the lining to be flannel or fleece or minkee as it gets a wee bit cold up here.
Some wrapples for our lunches--pears would be nice as well (pearples?)
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14455093
I never thought I would be saying this (as our middle child was toilet trained at just over a year and our oldest came to us at 4) but cloth diapers to fit a two year old (30 pounds, currently is in a size 4/5 diaper as he outgrew all but a couple pairs of training pants). Our two year old just isn't interested in toilet training.
Some fingerless mitts for me in supersoft yarn that isn't aryclic. Blues, greens, browns, or grays would be great.
claimed, thanks poerava!
A super hero cape like this
http://pukingpastilles.com/?p=57
for either my two or four year old. Any color would be great.
Pinafores in sizes 5/5t/6 in fun prints preferably blue/brown/pink colors but the middle child is fairly easy going (example on wist).
Felt food veggies or sets (no pizza as we have a fabulous set and no meat cause that really isn’t part of our meals but perhaps breakfast or sandwhich)
This hat
http://www.rheatheylia.com/index.php?page=patterns&id=10
in blues, greens, grays, or browns. I have a largish head/a bit of hair so it should be done on the larger size.
The loop de loop scarf
http://sarah-london.blogspot.com/2008/07/here-we-go-loopy-lou.html
Anything from/inspired by my wist:
http://www.wists.com/girlosun_9
and there are a lot of ideas here, please feel free to craft something you would like to craft!
Pendant or pendants such as
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10371924
, or this
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=13217285
, this
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=13888420
, or this
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11823943
I especially love the robot but I love them all
Handspun-->many examples on my wist
one of my biggest wishes
Gocco Cards with envelopes. I will be giving them in gratitude wraps as gifts (like on the Soule Mama blog). Deer, owls, trees, acorns, and/or pretty much anything nature inspired.
This neckalce
http://www.beadingdaily.com/blogs/projects/archive/2008/08/01/cerulean-falls.aspx
love the colors and design
And these are both beyond huge but a person can wish Smiley this dollhouse
http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2008/08/fabric_dollhouse_tutorial.html?CMP=OTC-5JF307375954
and this spaceship
http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66029
are both looked at by me frequently. Even better would be the patterns modified used as inspiration for making a fold up train or a hollow train with figures to go inside.
Supplies:
Diamond Glaze
One of my biggest supply wishes
This kit is 16" friendship doll kit. A boy kit, sandy hair, light skin, blue eyes
My other biggest suppy wish
Fiber (batts or roving) for spinning . . . lapoli really set me up in the iyp swap and now I just want more! I'll be getting a wheel soon so I'll be also be using a bit more fiber Smiley Examples of colors I like are on my wist but I am pretty open to any colors (as I crochet for a large variety of people)
Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol (gently used is fabulous)
Linen→Used or Thrifted pretty much any color
Anything from/inspired by my wist:
linen double fold bias tape at least a 1/2 inch
unpainted wooden nesting dolls
A pendant making kit (for the eldest, this is what she wants to make for Christmas gifts for her friends) like this
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15000148
or this
http://www.makeandtakes.com/links/scrabble-tile-pendant-tutorial
or this
