made for friends of craftster raffle.  is a steamrolled polar bear as far as I'm concerned

little face and little butt.

I got the pattern off of ravelry- here's the website where you can get it.
http://www.highcountryknitwear.com/polarbearscarf.shtml
I think that they just changed the price as of Nov. 1 2008.  I got it for free a few days ago but according to the site they're having bandwidth issues.

do you like?

Did you knit the head and legs seperately? I guess I don't understand that part. I would love to make this for my sister.

very cute, the yarn you used looks better than the one on the site. er, how do I get the pattern without paying for it? "Knitting Pattern - Polar Bear Scarf
Site Maintainer's Note: We're sorry, but as of November 1, 2008 this pattern will no longer be free of charge due to high bandwidth usage issues."
is there a link somewhere on there?

you probably have!  That's funny you are the second craftster that I've meet that goes here too!

I used bernat soft boucl. the color- natural.

yes.  you cast on one leg, then make it as long as you like and leave it on the needles.  then you seperately cast on and make the head and the other leg.  when you are ready to start the body you knit them all together, CO stitches to be spaces between his neck and legs.  make sense sort of?

Yea that does stink that it's not free anymore. However, they're only asking a dollar for it, so when I get up the gumption to make it I'm not to worried about the cost.

He's so cute!  My knitting is extremely slow, so will have to make a crocheted version of him!

Crocheting is like prostitution.  First you do it for love, and then for a few close friends, and then for money.  Maybe that is why they call us Hookers?

Agreed!  I'd pay $1 for nearly any pattern!  Unfortunately, most designers don't realize that.  $1, $2...no worries.  But $5, $6, I even saw one scarf pattern, just the pattern for $12 recently--sorry, I'm not paying that much.

Thank you for explaining butofcourse! I think it makes sense now!

Oh. I have another question. When making the arms, do you bind off in between each arm? So I've made one arm, and I'm not sure if I should bind off the arm, and then cast on again.

Sorry for all the questions!
