I made this cornbread for a potluck at work and I wanted to share it with you.  It's my moms recipe.  We've made it many many times and it is YUMMY.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
1/4 cup margarine
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla
1 cup cornmeal
2 tsp baking powder
dash salt

Blend until smooth.  Poor into greasted 9 inch square or 13x9 pan.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.  Also makes 12 muffins.

I am so happy to see another person who likes sweet cornbread!!  I'll have to give this a try, I'm so addicted to the old school jiffy cornbread.  Your cornbread came out looking very yummy!!

With a whole cup of sugar it is sweet!  I've been eating this cornbread since I was a kid so I won't eat any other ones now  Grin

LOVE sweet cornbread!!!!  My mom always made it in a bundt pan and we sliced it like cake and ate it all day long.  Yours looks so heavenly brings back good memories.
