firefly costume

I made a ladybug and firefly costume for my daughter this year. this is the back of the firefly, the butt has a light in it so it lights up when it's dark. I'm having trouble figuring out how to attach the lady bug arms to her - they are paper mache so pretty stiff, almost turtle-shell like and a bit heavy...any suggestions?
