This was a fun bag to make and i love carrying it

Tell me what you think. My daughter thinks it needs better handles...but it suits me fine

thanks , not sure what a sewing buddy is but thanks...this bag was very easy to make but I always struggle with doing straps and I think maybe next time they will be padded or something and maybe I will attach them with some hardware rings and studs ...
Not sure if you can tell but those zips are put on the outside of the bag and they are pockets.
Essentially I would love this bag in leather or faux leather so that the handles could be a bit sturdier...I think the pleats would be hard though,

i was just gonna ask if it's made of leather! i really love your bag, especially the zipper detail. i am curious as to how it opens up to a pocket!

as for those straps, they look fine to me. sometimes my straps turn out like that too, and using some interfacing can really help make it more sturdy.. but i think when you're carrying it over your shoulders, nobody would notice it anyway!  Grin

Amazing and Wow don't do it justice.  Very skillful job.  Have you considered making a casing out of the leather and filling it with rope or cording for the straps?  The cord doesn't have to go all the way to the ends leaving enough of the casing to sew in between the lining and the bag.

first I would need to get some leather, but I feel like i would need to incorporate that into the bag, you know like part  faux suede( that is what this bag is) and leather.
thanks for the idea, i will be mulling this over for a few days and see what I come up with.

I use interfacing and packing strapping ( the stuff that is put around boxes when they are shipped ) on my handles. I insert the strapping inside the strap and it gives it a more rigid look.

What a great bag!  You really did a great job on this!  I love the style! Can't figure out how in the world you did those zippers and pleats!!  Regarding the handles, I was going to suggest an idea similar to Ambimom's idea.  Also I noticed that Wildwoodgardens had a great idea as well.

Thanks for sharing!
