Swap name:  Japanese Street Style Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: LiquidScissors
Sign-up date range: March 4th - March 20th
Date to send item by: May 15th

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): no

Non-U.S. participants allowed? yes

All ages allowed? Or 18+? all

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer has been a member for at least 1 month and will
make sure that every participant has been a member for
at least 1 month: YES

Details of swap:  I would assume that anyone interested in this swap would be aware of the Japanese street scene.  But in just in case, here is a great website that paradisecrane gave in the idea thread...

www.japanesestreets .com  (click on the street fashion part and pick a photo)
I would really say that those pictures pretty much say it all.  You can do clothes, accesories, etc.  I will try to pair up people in a way so that it is fair.

There are a lot of styles as far as the japanese street style goes, for example the whole Lolita look (babydoll) or the futuristic cyborg thing.  etc. (look at the pics)

Anyway, there are endless possibilities with this swap... and so you can really get as crazy as possible.  I will partner everyone up, so that whoever you are sending to, is sending back to you, that way you can both do simular things, such as skirts or earrings.  etc.  And someone mentioned sending your partner your own clothes and having them nifty them up and send them back, which would be more postage, so I am adding that to the questionare.  thanks guys!! have fun!!

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside of the US?
Do you plan on making clothes, accesories or both?
Which style do you like best?(just a generalization, you can go into depth more with your partner)
Would you be willing to send out clothes for someone to redesign, and send back and vise versa?

Anything else you can discuss with your partner once assigned.  =D

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

question.  Do i have to wait until i've been a member for one month before i can sign up, considering i will have been here a month before the sign-up closes and well before the send-out date?  It's not a big deal if i need to wait, i'm just really exciteable and want to do it NOW, and i figure that it would be easier for liquid scissors the earlier she gets all the information in.

OOOOO! this sounds like so much fun!  I was looking at the FRUITS book just the other day- it was the first time I'd heard of this stuff.  I went balistic, it is soo cool!  So would it be a big problem if I don't know a whole lot about this stuff?  I've never been to Japan and it doesn' really seem to have caught on in suburbia so I'd just be copying from the photos. Any ojections?

I would be doing the same thing if I sign up. Gosh this swap is so tempting, but I don't know if I can bring myself to join another swap, I am so busy.

Damn! I'd reeeealllllllyyy LOVE to be part of this particular swap, I'm a huge fan of japanese fashion, but I'm moving to Australia at the start of May so I think things might get a little too hectic to get something done.
 Cry

Can't wait till May to see what everyone else comes up with though, good luck with it.
