I apologize for the quality of the photos, believe it or not these were the best.  I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I'm glad I'm a better knitter then a photographer!

This is the completed afghan from the Learn to Knit Afghan book.  It took me 6 months to complete and you can read some of my thoughts while making it by checking out my post in the Learn to Knit Afghan Along.  Every square is different, so that you learn many techniques making this.  I feel like an expert knitter now, and patterns no longer look like a coded message to me!

That is SO pretty! It totally looks like something you could buy (for a whole lot of money!) I love the color choices and the different patterns. You should be really proud of yourself, I've been knitting for years and some of those patterns look pretty hard. I'm sure you'll get a lot of use out of it this winter!

I appreciate your kind comments.  I'm actually giving it away as a birthday present next month to my MIL, so I hope she likes it!  It is actually very warm, and I have to fight the greedy desire to keep it myself, lol.

Some of those squares WERE very difficult, there are a few cables, some mosiacs, ect.  Almost any kind of pattern you can think of is represented in there at some point!  It really made me very confident in my ability to knit just about anything now Smiley

Congratulations!!!  I remember when you started the knit a long (I never posted in there, just browsed once in a while) and I do want to do this at some point.

Your blanket looks fantastic and your MIL would be crazy not to love it.
