Sooo.... I was so inspired by the BEAUTIFUL things you all have posted here, that I decided I had to try embroidery! Off to Michael's I went, and a couple days of practicing later here are the "finished" pieces I have!

Here's a little baby t I would have gifted to a really awesome lady I know (or rather her son) but I didn't find out about the stabilizer stuff until researching why this looks funny... oops!

And a little Christmas tree, of course I didn't bother to draw anything out first, that would be too easy! (I'm an idiot, lol) My step-mom would be a major fan of Christmas-themed hand towels (as long as I practice more)  Smiley

Advice, etc would be HUGELY appreciated, if any of you wouldn't mind? (thank you thank you thank you, I'm in need of help over here!)

Baby onesies from the store can be so cheesy and cliche.. I LOVE the baby's first mustache idea!

First of all, great job with the embroidery!  Since you asked for advice (although this isn't about the embroidery)...  With onsies you want to think about baby's comfort since they are usually worn directly against the skin.  If you buy embellished ones you often see a very soft 'fusible interfacing' type thing on the backs of embroidery.  Babies sometimes have such sensitive skin, it keeps the chafing down  Grin.  Just a thought, although looking at your picture again, maybe you have already done that? (I still think its a great gift though)...

Looks great.  You could hand wash the onsie and lie flat to dry, then iron with lots of steam.  That could take care of some of the stitches.  However, I think you did an amazing job.

Thanks guys! You've made me feel way better about my stitching lol

I bought some stabilizer, going to try to figure that out this weekend, and I even got some iron-on interfacing so I'm totally prepared! ha! (By the way- about the interfacing- is iron-on stuff something you guys have used? Does it come in any other form? I'm such a newbie... just hope I didn't get the wrong thing!)

Working on a far better project- will post as soon as it's done (best thing? No need for stabilizer or interfacing or anything- it's already all there!!) woooo!!

Thanks again Smiley
