I have designed some cute felt stuffies and am trying to scan them in to the computer so I cam type the instructions for making them onto the page with the pattern pieces, so I can then print the whole thing out. I scanned them in and opened them in my paint program but when I opened it, it was huge, I tried shrinking the page to what looked like the right size on the comp. screen and printed it. then it was real tiny, I need the pattern pieces to be the same size that they are on the page that I scaned it. can anyone please help me? I hope that i explained it good enough.

It's the scale of the image that you need to fix.  You can download "The Gimp" which is a free, open-source graphics program.  Open the scanned item in the gimp.  Once you open gimp, hit file, new.  It will ask you the size you want.  The default is in picas, but you can change to inches or mms, depending on what you understand best.  I use inches.

Now that you have the finished size, hit file again and open your scanned document.  To add text.  Just hit the "A" in the toolbox to the left.  It will give you an option for size and font.  Type away.  You can move the text boxes with the move tool.

That should solve your problem.
