This year my daughter asked for a Tomas costume, from the movie The Orphanage. She liked the movie so much, she even asked for the costume as a Christmas present. So.. I made one for her for this year's Halloween. I went on a thrift shopping spree to reconstruct the vintage orphanage uniform, but I had no luck. The shirt is a flowery dress and I wasn't able to dye gray properly, as anyone can notice.. but the shoes were a true find!. The mask was hand-made from an old blanket I found. I wanted the mask to look as much as the original as possible, so I worked hard on it. Distressing it was a pain in the back, I can tell you that. Anyway, thanks for looking and all comments welcome.

P.S. Truth be told, I wasn't able to find high-resolution pictures of Tomas on the net. I had to work with the either really small images I found or the trully low-resolution ones.

The original Tomas:

Very nice! I was just scanning through 'recent with pics' and didn't read the topic title but knew instantly who it was!

I'd get creeped out if I had to make this costume. Scary movies don't scare me, but this one came pretty close  Wink

Oh, my god... It's so good it seriously gives me the creeps! It looks so much like the original Tomás. I saw the movie not too long ago, so it's fresh in my mind.

I won't be able to sleep now. Sad
