Thank you all for seeing past the subject matter to understand the intended message.  I was nervous that people would be offended by the images.  It really means a lot to me that people have been so kind.

This whole series has been an extravagant love letter to my husband.  He is 2 months into a year long overseas tour.  I miss him a lot.

i just googled 'blackwork' and according to wikipedia (however accurate THAT is...) "scarletwork is like blackwork, except it is sewn with red thread." there ya go!

i love it, by the way. my husband was like, "oh, wow... how did she do that?"
