Hi! This is my first post with pics, so please excuse (and notify) me if it doesn't work.

So, I took an awesome ceramics class in my freshman year, and one of the assignments was to make a bobblehead. This is what I came up with:

It's inspired by Pablo Picasso's "Buste de femme au chapeau". (pictured here:http://www.sgallery.net/artnews/2007/08/26/old-master-modern-and-contemporary-prints-at-christies-london.html) I'm pretty proud of this one, despite the fact that her head ended up crooked when I glued the spring on, making her look contemplative and with a way-too-long neck.

Close-up of her head. Those eyebrows were hard.

It's painted with underglaze, then clear glaze on top.

Thanks for reading! Comments appreciated.

This is absolutely darling!  And very Picasso-y.  Oh I just love it!  I love how it combines the kitsch feel of a bobble head with a very pronounced artist and art movement.  I would own one.

Love it! I don't think that the neck is too long at all. It's wonderful!

Thanks for your great comments!

Mondster: I know, I love the combination of "bobblehead" and "high art".

Knickertwist: You don't think the neck's too long? Well, thank you. I feel a little better about it now.

Not familiar with that painting. Love your work. Thanks for sharing. How can you know if a neck is too long on a Picasso?
