OK, usps.com says my package was delivered on Saturday.  Is this the case, teapot?

I received from calluna on Saturday!  Unfortunately I was running errands and didn't get pictures taken before sundown (you know, 4:30   ) And then Sunday I was a waste and napped most of the day to try to get over a headache.  But today! Today I took pics during my lunch break.

First things first, the note.


Then a cross-stitched bookmark (on eeny weeny cross-stitch fabric!)

It says "If I want to hear the pitter patter of little feet in the house, I'll put shoes on the cat."

Yea, he's cute, but he's a brat! He peed on the fabric left in the box calluna sent (I guess because he smelled her dog  ) and then I put all the stuff back IN the box without realizing what had happened until today.  Fun.

I like this a lot.  Along the edges it says "Thank you for being responsible with your fertility and choosing to wait for children until you are ready."  Definitely good for the boy to hear since he really wants kids (although not yet!) and sometimes get a little worried that I mean never instead of later.




So, that's a metric shit ton of crafty awesomeness!    AND if I'm not mistaken, she's gonna send me something else that she couldn't get printed in time.  Man, I don't know if I sent enough now! Calluna you were an AWESOME partner! Thank you so much!!

Yeeeah, I received today, myself, and I'll get photos tomorrow -- though they will be embarrassingly inadequate. It's so much coolness!

The text on the outside of the swap is from two sources - the orangey one is from Paul Reiser's book "Babyhood", and the page is a list of imaginative ways parents can accidentally harm their babies, which is rather funny. The other one is from a 1950s "family development" textbook (I lament not being able to use more of it in this package!), and says something like "If we are to look at woman as strictly a reproductive being [there's a problematic idea if ever there was one!], she spends the first 3rd of her life preparing for motherhood, the second 3rd being a mother, and the final 3rd alone."
