I've always loved flappers, so feminine and sexy while challenging views about what females were supposed to be. The makeup, short hair, amazing hats, what's not to love? So when I really wanted to make something new, it had to be a flapper hat. I turned to google to look for pictures of flappers, and there it was: A lovely black lace hat from the 1920's, for the low low price of 275 bucks, heh. I knew I had to make it in crochet, it had to be mine. So here it is, in all it's coy and adorable glory:

Backpost double crochet makes ridges along the front, which is longer than the back:

Pattern is on my website:

I was looking at your adorable hat, quietly coveting it, wishing that I could recreate it when lo and behold, you have made a pattern for me, so I am not forced to stare at your hat for hours asking myself, how did she make that?

I love this! I'm going to have to make one now.  Okay, not now, but as soon as I can squeeze it on my list of projects to work on.....

This is so lovely!  I had a flapper fetish in high school and found a great felt hat that was used and well loved until it was lost.  I'd almost forgot I'd had it!  Thanks so much for your pattern, I will have to make another now!

And you have a lovely bob!

 Cheesy

Oooh!  It's so pretty!  I too love the femininity and class of the flapper era!

Thanks for the pattern, too!  I can't wait to start this one!

LOL! This freaked me out, because I was looking at your hair and (somehow) I thought you were a mannequin! (Wow! I must be tired- it WAS a long day!) haha, It took realizing that the hat (the REASON you posted this in the first place) is really amazing and wanting to see the other pictures to notice that you are a real person..

haha, I think I'm losing it...

Nice job on the hat- it's beautiful! I will definitely check out that pattern!
