It's a poncho called 'Roam' from Rowan knitting magazine number 40.  It took me ages even though it's in biggy wool (Super Chunky) because it's the first real cable garment i've done but it's by far the best and most wearable item i've ever knit and i love it.  So glad it's getting cold now so i can wear it!!!!  Grin

wow, that's awesome! I usually stay away from ponchos b/c they're always so old-lady-ish (or child-ish in funfur and crazy colors) but this is awesome! I am so going to make one.

This is nice.

It *is* awesome.

Maybe the reason you like it as opposed to most ponchos is because it's more of a tabard; I think the designer just called it a poncho because ponchos were in at the time... you know, it would come up more often on searches and all. But it is very tabard-like, only with a hood, and thus awesome... kind of a taboodie! Smiley

Great work on all the cabling.

lol to be honest i stay away from poncho's too but the girl modelling looked so lovely and rustic so i thought i'd have a go.  I do like it and it's VERY warm.  Does anyone know how to block 100 % wool as the edges curl but i don't wanna shrink it.  Think it looks a younger style because of the hood.  Goes nice with my skinny jeans and uggs  Cheesy

That looks so warm and comfortable - it makes me want to knit a poncho, especially that one!
