So, this wasn't a Halloween party, but a very very recent costume party, themed SUPERHEROES.  Female superheroes.  Which there aren't many of which to speak.  So I tweaked the theme and my friend and I paired up to be CAPTAIN PLANET AND LINKA THE PLANETEER!!!

CAPTAIN PLANET:  Actually found nearly everything I needed in a Lord Lucifer costume I picked up at Walmart which included a puffy muscle-y shirt which I cut at the chest and at the shoulders, red gloves, and boot covers which I proceeded to cover with red duct tape.  Blue ladies workout shirt in the perfect color (the original idea was all body paint, but it was SUPER cold!).  Blonde mullet wig which I had to cut and then spray bright green.  Red underwear.  Cut out and glued the star and planet emblems.  Painted the face blue.  And..best part of all, made him wear blue fishnets.  Hah!!!

LINKA THE PLANETEER:  Goodwilled my way through this one.  Found a yellow shirt and drew the Planeteer emblem on it.  Blue $2 shirt.  Tan vest which I sewed to fit.  Used felt to make the "buttons" on my shirt and the belt buckle.  Hiked my shorts up super high and rocked some high tops with high socks.  And the blonde wig..

All in all the costume was a huuuge success.  But what topped it off? Halfway through the night we completely switched costumes.  I got red underwear for me and red duct taped a pair of boots I goodwilled, and then we painted me.  I'd made an identical Linka costume to fit a 6 foot tall boy...I even took the ring off the band and glued it to a hairband so it would be a one size fits all!

We sooo threw everyone for a loop and it was AWESOME!!!

The party was at the beginning of October and I've been trying to track down the swap pictures, but no luck yet!  I'll try and take a picture of the boots at some point tonight and post them!

Right, I've done the searches, but most of the notable ones that people will actually recognize are female supervillains.  Aaand, I'm not a big fan of the whole skin-tight, boob-enhancing costumes that are the norm for a lot of female superheroes.  And believe me, there were TONS of girls dressed as just such.
