Best things I ever made.

My daughter helped me pick out these fabrics - the first one she picked was the border.

I'm not crazy about the green sashing, but I love the stripes, even though I wanted them to be vertical and they came out horizontal.  (I know - I could rotate the whole quilt 90 degrees, but I like the bigger blocks best this way.)

I was pretty happy that it was my first quilt and there's only one really visible "floater."  The yellow in the striped fabric looks like a stalk of wheat, so I think I'll try a stitch to mimic that when I quilt it.

I really like your color choices.  Nice job!

BTW what's a "floater"?

This is lovely! I like the stripe/dot combo - it really sizzles.  Your choices of colour are wonderful.  Your daughter deserves a pat on the back *pats on the back*.  I think the green sashing is great, btw. Grin

That is a really nice quilt!  I like the border a lot and I like how the stripes turned out, especially when they're sideways in the blocks.  It gives it a lot of interest.

Thank you, everybody.  I'm glad other people like the stripes.  Smiley

klum78, here's a detailed pic so you can see that a floater is where the seams don't match up.
