has anyone here ever BUILT a traditional in-ground kiln?

i recently found about 10lbs of low-fire earthen-ware clay hiding in my basement that i never ended up using in a pottery class. my inner history and crafty nerd wish to combine forces and attempt building a in-ground kiln in my backyard --- has anyone else attempted this before?

any and all suggestions are welcomed Smiley
