I am making this Victorian note holder http://www.allfreecrafts.com/homemade-gifts/victorian.shtml for my sister this Christmas.  I am almost done with everything and am still undecided about what to write at the top.  "Please leave a note" seems so generic to me and I was hoping to put a little two line (4 line max) poem instead that conveyed the same idea.  Unfortunately, I am struggling to come up with one on my own Huh  I figured I'd ask my fellow craftsters for some advice!  So anyone have any cute/quirky/funny sayings (not necessarily poems) that would work better than "Leave a note"?  Thanks!

I think you need to have a message with a Victorian sensibility to go with the Victorian style, but I'm not sure where this is going to hang--on the fridge, front door, or office cubical?

maybe something like this for the front door:
The lady of the house is not receiving visitors.  Please leave your card.

Smiley.......This is a quote for tea time.........

Come and share a pot of tea
My home is warm and my friendship is free
~~Emilie Barnes

You could modify it a little to read something like this:

Come and leave a note for me
My heart is open and my friendship is free

Roll Eyes.........You've gotta post a pic when you're through.............. Grin

Mama was wrong..........idle hands lead to fantabulous projects!!
