Ok so I was surfing the HGTV website and I came across this picture:

http://img.hgtv.com/HGTV/2008/08/29/kitchen-hardware-islas_h460.jpg

Unfortunately it's in an article about cabinet knobs, but what I am interested in is that rack-type thing that goes around the inside of the range hood where they are hanging spoons.  I've never seen anything like this before.  I searched online and I can't for the life of me find anything.

Has anybody seen such a thing?  Any suggestions on how to go about making something similar, or maybe something similar that I could reconstruct into something like this?  And how the heck would I attach it to the hood?

Any insite/help/suggestions would me greatly appreciated!  Thanks guys!

I am guessing that the 'rack' is not an attachment, but an engineered part of this manufacturer's hood --- which is probably why you can't find it.

Since I don't solder - and would be unwilling to take my hood down to do something like this, I think it would have to be screwed in/on, or maybe something with some of the newer very strong earth magnets.  I would first look in the hardware to find if they had some sort of rod with screw threads, that could be bent - and then screwed into holes drilled into the hood.  The second thought was metal strapping which often has holes drilled at regular intervals.  That might be able to be attached with magnets and use the holes to hold the 's' hooks through the holes.

Maybe start with a towel rack?  If your range hood has straight sides, you could probably just use a towel rack as-is.  If curved, you could experiment with bending a towel rack around a solid curved surface.

That was my idea too, the container store has some magnetic towel racks.  Maybe adding on some heavy-duty magnets so the weight of my stainless steel utensils wouldn't drag it down.  I need to experiment with this, thanks!
