This is a T-shirt I made for a swap - one of the recipient's favorite TV shows is Firefly, and I'd been looking for an excuse to make a Firefly shirt for ages.

I love the scene where Wash is introduced with his plastic dinosaurs.

"Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"
"HA HA HA!  Mine is an EVIL laugh!"

I used freezer paper and I'm quite sad that I can't reuse the stencil to make a shirt for myself.  It took forever to cut out all the little fiddly letters.  Tongue

Here's an action shot and the rest of the swap package, if anyone's interested.

Best quote ever. I love Joss Whedon, and this shirt is amazing. I've been wanting one for a while, but just haven't gotten around to making it. I'm so inspired now.

I too wish that the stencil had been permanent.  Want!

What do Americans mean when they say 'freezer paper' - is that the waxed white paper that we refer to as 'baking paper' (you can bake cookies on it or line cake-tins with it)?

Ever stop to think and forget to start again?

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I think this is what we call "parchment paper."  (Or maybe wax paper?  I don't know, I've never used either for baking...)  Freezer paper is coated with plastic on one side, and you wrap food up in it before freezing it to "keep moisture in and air out," according to the package.  The plastic side temporarily adheres to fabric when it's ironed, and you can peel it off when you're finished stenciling.  I wouldn't try stenciling with the wax-coated paper, the wax might not come out of the fabric.   Undecided
