Not Yo Momma's Diaper Bag - *Picture Plump*

My big sister has three kids, 6, 3 & 3 months.  Her diaper bags have seen their day so I made her a special customized one.  I also made a diaper/wipes holder.  We saw these at Babies R Us and I thought since I am making the bag, I could make a matching holder.  I measured the wipes container and diapers and "winged" it.

Bag Front


Inside with pockets for wallet, inhaler (sis has asthma), pen slots, cell phone, keys...


I put elastic scrunchie things in the sides of the bag to hold bottles/sippy cups


Close up of the front pocket w/ magnetic closure.  I wanted the pocket to blend in so as not to lose the pattern so I matched it up.


Diaper/wipes holder


Back, holding the wipes container (I used mine for the pictures and yes there are all kinds of stickers on it!)


Front holding diapers, currently holding 4 size 5 diapers - with room to grow

Love the bag!!!! I t has given me inspiration to make one for my daughter. She has a 10 month old daughter, and a pale pink bag, that gets dirty really quickly. Will have to put our heads together,and devise something more practical & stylish.

I LOVE this... I keep wanting to make one for my best friend but haven't yet... I also have the patterns from the Amy Butler little stiches book... so I'm debating.... do I do my own or try to follow one of those patterns...

Gosh that is really gorgeous - you are right it is not "YO MOMMA's" bag!   Great fabric and great design(s) - I bet your sis loved it!

This is such a great bag, for if your sister is out and about without the kids in tow, the bag doesn't yell "Diaper Bag."  She can use it after she doesn't need to carry a diaper bag anymore (yes, there is a day when that happens!).

I saw a pattern for a wipes container like you made a while back - that thing is perfect to leave in the car jsut in case mainly cuz I forget important things too often....

WOW - that's beautiful.  As a new Grandma-to-be, I think my daughter would love a diaper bag that doesn't look like a diaper bag.  Thanks for the inspiration
