Ohhhh those soaps sound great. I would really consider adding this to my Christmas list of things to give if I thought the cost would stay reasonable. I used to make melt and pour soaps but they were very drying, more decorative than anything. I am going to make some furoshiki wraps and fill them with bath things for all of the sister n' laws etc... I bet they would really dig vanilla exfoliating soap.

And Alli_Lucy, my DC says its been received too. I hope Ruinate isn't disappointed!

I received yesterday from Sarahmakes! I love the fabric portfolio--it's so neat and tidy, unlike my ailing set of folders. I am posting pictures, although I know they don't do her handiwork justice. Overall, here's what I got:

And some tea-always welcomed. Oh, and a nice letter. Unfortunately I didn't get to wrap up my stuff like I'd wanted to, but I hope that Ms. Sarahmakes enjoys all the goodies and can use them, much like I look forward to enjoying her trade.

I *love* the fabric pushpins. They are so cute and cheery, I might have to make some for Christmas this year. And the bookmarks! Everyone has done such fantastic work, I am feeling swap anxiety!

This was a good day to receive my package. I was working at home today struggling with a particularly difficult issue in my dissertation, and this was a welcome interruption.

Mimikachu sent me a hanging organizer in a really pretty color, and guys, this is HAND STITCHED:


I know just what I'm going to do with it. It's already hanging, as you can see, and I'm going to keep my many dissertation drafts with comments form my adviser here so I don't lose them in the process of revising.

Here are the rest of the goodies:


She sent several notebooks made from recycled materials. Some of them are metro cards (so cool) and others incorporate my dissertation title and images of my favorite author Flannery O'Connor. She stalked me well. She also sent an eye mask, which I have been wanting, bath crystals in a cute little pouch, a "Bang Head Here" stress sign (because I already spend so much of my time beating my head against a wall--aka writing a dissertation), and a Virginia Woolf doll. That's right, I said a Virginia Woolf doll. Awesome.

Mimikachu, you were a great partner! I love this swap! I'm going to take my sign and my Woolf doll to school so I can bring a little cheer to my office mates, as well.

Yay! I stalked you well! So glad you like the stuff. I found inspiration for your big item from your wists. And the pattern-um, made it up.

Good luck on your dissertation. I had a fun time with this swap as well. AND you'll be pleased as punch to find out that I'm already luggin' my papers home in your beautiful portfolio thingey.
