Hello!
I made this for the dear Monkeythumb.
I used the tutorial from the book "Felt Wee Folk". I highly recommend this book!!!I've checked it out of the library three times and now it's on my amazon wishlist.
She's made from Chenille stems and embroidery floss, a wood bead and an acorn cap. I was a little sad to see her go, but I know she will be well cared for Cheesy Her tunic and skirt are made from felt and her hair is made with wool roving, I thought the ponytail suited her.

Close-up of skirt with freehand embroidery

Close-up of face. Sorry the pics are blurry, why can't I master the camera?? I used a pre-finished wood bead, but sanded the finish off (cheaper this way). Then I used color pencil to trace the face on. This was my second dolly of this kind started and my first finished, so I'm sure I'll get better with the face:)

She was sooooooo much fun!
Enjoy!!

and she's mine, all mine! i love her so, she's so gorgeous in real life. she lives on my extra special dolly shelf in my room close to my bed so i can see her all the time. she is so special, my mom nearly cried when we first unpacked her, she said "i can feel her energy!" it was adorable.

Awesome! I also recommend the book...it's so fun to see all the little characters & so inspirational ...having had the book for years now...a shoebox full of wooden beads, felt, & acorn caps...maybe I should dig that out...these would be so fun to make with/for my kiddos! Perhaps Christmas wee folk are on my to do list...

I love how you did the embroidery in contrasting colors on the shirt & skirt. She's cute!

Love it - have been teaching my 5-year-old students to make elves and fairies this way.

Hey, let's do a swap!

I think a wee folk swap would give me the push I need to actually dig out my supplies!  Cheesy

Oh she's so cute - and guess what?  I have that book too, but have never made one.  Okay - looks like another project on my to-do list - Christmas wee folks sounds like a good idea.
