Boy does he love his Polos. He looked at me crazy when I asked if I could have one, and couldn't for the LIFE OF HIM understand what in the world I possibly wanted with it. "You're gonna CUT it?!" LOL... Yes I did! And I even managed to keep the logo, which he loves! He makes me show anyone who comes over to visit. I think he likes it. Grin

What a good idea....hmmm....I highly doubt the bf could be persuaded to part with one of his...but I can try.

Did you cut it off at the underarms?  and elastic the top and waist?  Do you get in and out of it via the buttons or is it a pull on?  Did you shape the sides at all?

Sorry for all the questions...but I LOVE this!

I think I ended up sewing up the sleeves so I could cut it a little higher than the underarm... because it became very important to the bf that the logo stay intact. (lol)

Kristen81: The only elastic is under the bust... I made the boobage area fitted, and blended down the sides to keep as much to the bottom portion as possible. I just sorta winged it. Do a little, pin a little, do a little... till I got the fit I liked. Added the girly lace along the top, but kept the bottom as is so you can still tell it's a man's shirt. I can pull it on if the top couple buttons are unbottoned. I think I'll wear this tomorrow. Smiley

Questions are prefectly fine! You won't know if you don't ask!! Lemme know if I'm unclear... I have a hard time explaining these things in words sometimes. I can draw a picture if you need me too! I do better with picures, myself.

Oh, and punk rock puppy... I love your username!

I just cleaned out my hubby's closet yesterday and there were several button downs that I was really sad to see go.  I am going to have to try this!!   I don't really sew a lot though...do you think this would be easy for a beginner?

Thanks!  Your explanation is perfect, I think I can do this.....might have to start with a thrift shirt first though...before I tackle the "real thing".
