pom-poms make the heart grow fonder

So far this fall I have made Anemoi mittens and Endpaper mitts. I am now offically obsessed with mittens. I started to make Elliphantom's Herringbone mittens (ravelink) but I read the chart, screwed up, and frogged. So while I'm regrouping from that, I made these, based on the herringbone pattern but with a smaller stitch count to account for fair isle/non-fair isle gauge differences.

I started these about 24 hours ago. They're blocking now.

Hey, this mitten smells funny...

Thanks, guys!
Riki--it's definitely cold enough! I don't know how I managed to get a picture in front of the only green leaves left...

Well, that one big leaf to the left almost look like a rubber tree so I thought maybe you were in the tropical parts somewhere, hah!

Nope, I think it's an elm. But you have a good eye! I'm glad to be back up north where all my knits go to good use.

Fortunately I have sister, 3 nieces, a mother all in the chilly Northwest who can make good use of my knits - if I had only myself to knit for, my needles would grow rusty (or sprout roots) from misuse!

These are so freaking adorable! The colors are way cute. I wish I had uses for mittens here. Sad Btw, what kind of yarn is that?
