I'm so glad you like it all littlebluegirl, it was a lot of fun to craft. Also I included matching thread out of paranoia because of my lack of embroidery experience but I recently realised it means the dress can continue to be adorned if you so choose.

That embroidery was almost the death of me. After buying an iron-on transfer pencil that didn't work I had to scrap my original plan and free hand it with a random gel pen. Never mind finally finishing and finding out I'd managed to sew part of the rest of the dress to it...ah the joys of crafting

Glad to hear I am not the only one who has done this!! I've also done it with the sewing machine

I checked the DC # for my package this morning and was then haunting the door downstairs for the mail and I finally got it!  I was beyond thrilled to get it, I'm sure you are all going to be jealous.

She sent detachable sleeves, inspired by River and in Jayne hat colors, with a triangle scarf to go with it, inspired by Inara.  It has a cute little heart dangle at the end.  She also sent two candle holders with the Serenity logo on them, which I'm going to light at some point today, and a 2009 Calendar.  It's perfect too, because I was just looking at my calendar and thinking about what I'd like to get when the current one runs out.  It has both the actors' birthdays and the characters' birthdays.

And my favorite thing of all, a little clay model of Vera for me to hang in my car.  It's my favorite thing because my car is named Vera and a bunch of my friends think that just because she's an old mini van and has a bit of rust, she isn't worthy of being called that.  Luckily, gleep understood that Vera's just fine and so I'm completely and utterly beside myself with joy.  It's going to be put in my car when I head out to work tonight.    To go along with the model, I also got a keychain with a picture of Jayne and Vera and the quotes "I call her Vera" and "She's worth miles more than what you got", both appropriate to my car.

I'm totally going to use these as the basis for my costume this year.  Thanks to gleep and supersolar for a great swap!  I think I'm going to have to hide the calendar and Vera from my boyfriend.  He's going to be jealous!

BTW, the votive holders can be washed after about another 2 weeks; the paint will have cured by then.
