it's beautiful...the gathering with that fabric looks really complex, very effective!

does it have layers? it looks really 'full'- im just starting to sew so i have lots of questions, but im trying to work out as much as i can by sight.

very, very beautiful, and i'm inspired to make one for my daughter now.

Thanks Everyone,

That's fantastic!  I HATE gathering, so I have avoided this project.  It certainly is adorable, though!

That is SO cute!  I've done the gathering before but I avoid it at all costs since it's so difficult ... great job.

I actually used Shirring Elastic on all strips, rather then trying to get it to 'gather' evenly.....
Its added a fair bit of weight to it I think, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.  And it was very simple that way, just time consuming....

Yop, it has 2 layers, and inner and an outer, both are exactly the same, but I think the fullness more comes from the amount of fabric in each tier, its a very soft Chiffon, and it gathered/shirred really well.

I love this, its beautiful!

Wow, my very first post.. lol.

Congrats on your First Post Cheesy

I'm not happy, I'm cheerful. There's a difference.

Nylon Chiffon is the type of Chiffon you use for this sorta project and its uber easy, being that it doesn't fray Cheesy

Heh, I use MCN/Cloth Nappies too, so when she's wearing it, she sorta swaggers and the whole bottom of the skirt sorta twirls round her legs, and she walks along picking it up and dropping it, is so very cute Cheesy
