I have a question!

I'm thinking about joining the swap but I was wondering about the whole shipping receipt requirement. Would it be possible to take pictures of them ready to go (addressed, sealed, stamped) instead? I have a ton of stamps at home (think cleaned out the office and found 39, 41, 43, 60, 69,72, 2, and 1 cent and forever and stamps) that I'm wanting to use. Is that ok or would I have to take them to the postoffice?

This is what the swap info guide says:
Mailing your swap item to your swap partner

You must use "delivery confirmation" (DC#) or package tracking of some sort when you mail your package. And you must send the tracking number to the swap organizer so that they can record it. This way if the package gets lost, you won't get Negative Feedback because you can prove that you sent the package.

There are two reasons why you might be allowed to skip delivery confirmation:

1. Some shipping places (like the US Post Office) won't do package tracking/delivery confirmation on packages that are too thin

2. If you are mailing to another country and adding on package tracking/delivery confirmation would be very expensive, then you can skip it.

If you must skip tracking, then for proof of mailing just keep the receipt you get for shipping the item. The receipt should have information about where the package is going to.

If you have a digital camera, you may want to snap a picture of your item before you send it. This way, if the person you send it to doesn't have a digital camera, you can still show it off in the "Swap Gallery" for this swap (after the person has received it!).

Also, I don't think there has ever been a swap where some kind of confirmation was not required.  You could use FedEx and like as well, but for this swap I think that would be way too expensive.  You have two possible options.

1.  Go to the post office and pay for the shipping there and save your receipt.

2.  Put on all your stamps and go the post office and spend the $.75 on each delivery confirmation needed (for 5 partners, that could be spending up to $3.75).

Since you already have all the stamps, option two would probably be cheaper.  Yes, both options require a trip to the post office, but you and I will have the security of knowing you have official proof of sending if the package gets lost.  That means if the package gets lost you can choose to either resend or I can get an angel, but your feedback will be positive.

Whew!!!!  Mother moment over (this is about as close to motherhood as I'll probably ever get Wink).  With all that said (and I hope haven't completely scared the wits out of you now), I really really hope you join.  It really is a fun swap and I swear to you, I am a very chilled out person.  Honest. Cheesy

Thanks myklia. I was trying to figure out if that would work or not.

Plus, its something that's good to keep in mind for other swaps as well.

No problem, just thought I'd ask. I'm trying to figure out a way to get rid of sheets of stamps and putting 20 stamps on a package to australia just didn't seem right.

Thanks!

You can always say you don't want to ship outside your own country.  There are plenty of USA people here.  Thanks for asking the question and you are welcome to join.

I think tomorrow I'll add some links of Rapunzel scarves other people have done on Craftster.  There have been a number of them lately, all with different personalities.

Here is a great one out of mostly worsted weight yarn that was posted today:

I am in the process of making one right now. Cheesy
I'll post a pic tomorrow.

I sent a PM to the first 12 people signed up so far.  If for some reason you didn't get a PM from me, let me know.  Thanks.

Got it.
That's totally fine by me. I'll see what I can do with DC's up here in Canada.

There are a ton more, just do a search for "rapunzel" on the main page.  I'll add this to the first post as well.
