I made this taggy blanket for my friend's baby and finished it today, the monkey, branch and leaves are all traditional chinese silk and I like the way they contrast with the more traditionally babyish blue flannel. Can't wait to give it to him when I see him on Sunday for my weekly cuddles!

the back says 'Made for Ethan with <3 by Auntie Paula x'

yes, they are loops of ribbon dancechica

seeuudee - I made these for a couple of babies last christmas, it's fun thinking of an image to applique for them

raventhistle - thank you! I teach textiles in high school, so I hope my making skills are good anyway but I do take my time to make sure things for babies are particularly well made so that their parent's feel happy bunging them in the washing machine and of course so there are no choking hazards

thanks to everyone for the replies!
